This is a senior, hands-on principal role and the work is predominantly Azure. You will report to the director of IT work closely with enterprise architecture, platform engineering, security, and DevOps teams to modernize legacy infrastructure, harden production reliability, and build the automation and governance needed to support the company’s continued growth.
Responsibilities:
● Lead a migration to Auth0 to improve user authentication and onboarding.
● Evolve our event-driven messaging infrastructure (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
● Make pragmatic, evidence-based decisions about cloud platform choices — particularly as GPU availability and AI/ML workload demands continue to evolve.
Must have:
● 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, or platform engineering.
● 4+ years of Azure experience.
● Strong command of networking fundamentals in cloud environments: DNS architecture, load balancing, CDN configuration, firewall policy, and Kubernetes network policies across Azure and AWS.
● Solid security practices across infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, encryption, and compliance considerations relevant to financial services.
● Proficiency in Terraform and IaC at scale; experience operating mixed environments including managed Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), containers, and VMs.
● Hands-on disaster recovery planning and testing — defining, documenting, and validating RTOs and RPOs for critical production systems.
● Familiarity with compiled application languages (C#, Java, or Go) sufficient to understand application infrastructure requirements and collaborate effectively with development teams.
● Experience contributing to M&A integration efforts — evaluating acquired infrastructure, identifying risks, and supporting technology consolidation.
Nice to have:
● Experience with Auth0 or comparable modern identity providers, particularly leading an auth platform migration.
● Familiarity with event-driven messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
● Ability to coach and upskill engineers on infrastructure best practices without formal management responsibility.
● Experience introducing AI-assisted tooling into infrastructure or platform engineering workflows.
● SOC level 1 adoption.
● AWS experience.
● CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub Actions.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
● Excellent written communication skills — precise, well-structured technical documentation and architectural proposals; comfortable presenting to both engineering and business audiences.
