We are seeking a Business Systems Engineer with strong engineering fundamentals and an AI-first mindset to help modernize and automate internal business operations across the organization.
In this position, you will integrate systems engineering with operational tooling, workflow automation, and AI-driven process architecture. Your core objective will be to analyze business challenges and map end-to-end processes to develop sustainable technical solutions. By leveraging APIs, internal tools, and reporting systems, you will build maintainable integrations and AI-enhanced workflows that address downstream impacts across the organization.
You will partner directly with the Operations Manager to identify operational bottlenecks, prioritize opportunities, and build scalable technical solutions that reduce manual work, improve reporting visibility, and unlock organizational capacity.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving messy operational problems, designing systems thinking-first solutions, and using AI as a core layer in automation and operational infrastructure, not as an afterthought.

Key Responsibilities:
● Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks through automation, integration, and systems design.
● Build internal tools, workflows, dashboards, and AI-assisted operational systems.
● Design automations that reduce repetitive manual work and improve operational efficiency.
● Partner with operations stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and validate automation opportunities.
● Build integrations between internal systems, CRMs, reporting layers, and third-party platforms.
● Create reporting systems and organizational dashboards that consolidate key metrics into one reliable view.
● Improve operational scalability by reducing tribal knowledge, manual tracking, and fragmented processes.
● Evaluate where AI-assisted workflows, agents, or emerging tools can create practical value.
● Ensure solutions are maintainable, observable, documented, and aligned with engineering best practices.
● Collaborate with Product Engineering and SRE teams to ensure technical quality, security, reliability, and operational standards.

Must Have:
● Strong ability to communicate in English (Professional proficiency).
● Previous experience working with international clients.
● 5+ years of experience in business systems engineering, systems integration, operational engineering, internal tooling, or workflow automation.
● Strong engineering fundamentals, including version control, APIs, integrations, observability, logging, and maintainable systems design.
● Experience building or maintaining internal tools, automations, dashboards, or operational systems.
● Hands-on experience integrating APIs, SaaS platforms, CRMs, data sources, and internal systems.
● Ability to understand business processes end to end and translate operational roadblocks into technical solutions.
● Experience using AI or LLM-based tools to improve workflows, automate processes, or accelerate delivery.
● Strong reporting and business intelligence mindset, with the ability to consolidate metrics from multiple systems into useful views.
● Ability to assess when to customize, automate, integrate, or use an existing tool.
● Comfortable collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and explaining technical decisions clearly.
● Ability to operate independently while staying transparent about progress, blockers, and tradeoffs.

Nice to Have:
● Experience with CRM platforms such as SugarCRM or similar systems.
● Familiarity with Retool, workflow builders, orchestration tools, or internal application platforms.
● Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP.
● Experience building dashboards, reporting systems, analytics layers, or operational health metrics.
● Familiarity with automation tools such as Zapier, n8n, Make, or similar platforms.
● Experience designing AI-assisted documentation search, internal knowledge tools, or workflow copilots.
● Exposure to finance, support, HR, marketing, or customer/member operations workflows.
● Experience working in smaller, lean, mission-driven organizations.

● Cloud Infrastructure: GCP.

● Internal Tooling: Retool.
● CRM: SugarCRM.
● AI Stack: Multiple LLM providers and AI-assisted operational workflows.
● Architecture Focus: APIs, integrations, automation layers, observability, reporting systems, and internal tooling.
