The Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, securing, operating, and optimizing cloud environments built on Microsoft Azure. This role ensures cloud infrastructure is resilient, compliant, wellgoverned, and proactively monitored.
The Senior Engineer drives architecture, governance, automation, and complex troubleshooting, while the Junior Engineer focuses on daytoday operations, monitoring, and supporting cloud platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Platform Engineering:
● Build, configure, and support Azure resources including compute, network, storage, identity, and security services.
● Participate in the setup and optimization of Azure Landing Zones following bestpractice patterns (identity, network, governance, policy, tagging).

Security, Governance & Compliance:
● Implement ZeroTrust-aligned controls, RBAC, conditional access, and network segmentation.
● Support governance policies for resource hygiene, tagging standards, backup retention, and cost optimization.
● Respond to security alerts, vulnerabilities, and compliance findings.

Operations, Monitoring & Reliability:
● Monitor cloud workloads using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Alerts, Application Insights, and related tools.
● Maintain backup/restore operations, highavailability configurations, and disasterrecovery patterns.
● Perform incident triage, rootcause analysis, and escalation handling.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
● Use IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) to provision and manage cloud environments.
● Automate routine operations using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or GitHub/Azure DevOps pipelines.
● Implement CI/CD workflows for cloud resource deployment and configuration updates.

Cost & Performance Optimization:
● Monitor resource consumption, rightsize workloads, and eliminate orphaned resources.
● Recommend improvements to performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Documentation:
● Work closely with architects, application teams, security teams, and DevOps engineers.
● Document cloud configurations, operational runbooks, and environment standards.

Required Skills:
● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring).
● Understanding of cloud security principles and operational best practices.
● Handson experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
● Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform).
● Ability to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues across multiple layers.
● Clear communication, with strong documentation and collaboration skills.
● Experience supporting Azure operations and performing daytoday cloud administration.
● Ability to follow established processes, runbooks, and governance standards.
● Familiarity with monitoring tools, cloud logs, and basic troubleshooting.
● Familiarity with Crowstrike and Microsoft Defender is a plus.
● Exposure to IaC and automation concepts with willingness to grow into advanced areas.

Relevant Experience:
● 2 years of working in Azure environments (operations or support).
● Exposure to cloud administration, monitoring, or automation.
● Certifications such as AZ900, AZ104, or equivalent knowledge are a plus.
