The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units. In this role you will manage project resources, schedules, and financials, as well as adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. You will contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. They will verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.
Key Responsibilities:
● Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead project teams, define objectives, and manage all phases from initiation to deployment, ensuring successful delivery of one or more concurrent initiatives.
● Planning & Control: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Manage resources, schedules, and financials while maintaining adherence to SDLC and quality standards.
● Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating and resolving as needed to maintain project momentum.
● Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates on milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risks to leadership and key stakeholders.
● Process Improvement: Support the establishment and enhancement of project management practices, templates, and tools across the organization.
● Team Collaboration: Foster teamwork and accountability, motivating members to achieve goals while maintaining high performance and quality.
● Change & Quality Management: Control project scope, ensure proper documentation, and perform internal quality reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
● Minimum of 7 years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
● 5+ years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
● Strong expertise in SDLC methodologies, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
● Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects to on-time, on-budget completion.
● Experience managing resources, budgets, and project financials.
● Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills with the ability to lead across business and technical teams.
● Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
● Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
● Experience with portfolio management tools such as Planview, Clarity PPM, or similar.
● Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
● Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and managing external suppliers.
● PMI Certification and Agile Certification/Training.
● Languages: English C1+ and Portuguese (mandatory)
● Location: Sao Paulo / Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (mandatory)
● Flexibility to work outside standard hours to coordinate with global teams.
