The company is a fintech company specializing in local and cross-border payment solutions for emerging markets. Our platform enables global companies to accept payments in local currencies through native methods in each country, facilitating their international expansion.
We are looking for a Sr. Backend Engineer to design and build the core services that power the company’s global payment platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance as we expand across emerging markets.
Responsibilities:
● Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for our payment platform.
● Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of distributed systems.
● Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
● Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
● Implement security best practices and maintain compliance with fintech standards.
● Contribute to CI/CD improvements, observability, and system reliability practices.
● Mentor peers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Requirements:
● 5+ years of experience in backend software development with complex, distributed and concurrent systems.
● Minimum of 2 years within the Fintech environment experience.
● Strong proficiency in Java or Go (Golang), with hands-on experience in Spring Boot, REST APIs, GoRoutines and microservices architectures.
● Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, SNS/SQS, CloudFormation, etc.).
● Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RDS).
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines) and Docker.
● Strong understanding of API security, authentication (JWT, OAuth2, Auth0), and cloud based environments.
● Fluent in Spanish and intermediate/advance in English.
